2006-2008 were busts, no doubt, but 2009 looks like it has the makings of a good draft.

Volmer played like a top tackle last season and is going to be a fixure on the line for years probably making several pro-bowls.

Edelman is going to be a good WR in the league for years to come

Ingram (sure he’s a long-snapper), but he filled the role he was supposed to fill when drafted.

Butler played well for a rookie CB and showed play making ability.

Pryor showed a lot for a rookie and looks to be a regular rotation player if not more.

Ohrnberger – seems like he’ll get worked into the O-Line rotation as an extra guy with flexibility

Chung had his moments up and down, but can hardly be written off.

Tate/McKenzie – still have upside but were injured so they cannot be written off. Especially TAte since he was drafted as a guy to rehab.

Brace disappointed, but got more time late, dressed anyways, late in the year.

Too early to write off 2009 as it could turn out to be a very good draft, however at the least it will be solid.

Bring Pete back. Fire Wolfe. Scumbags.

  3. Mike Daly Says:

2006-8 drafts look like busts until one remembers there wasn’t any room on the roster for more than who the Patriots took in. Those overall drafts league-wide don’t look quite that hot and everyone’s drafting is spotty; I don’t buy that the Patriots drafted that badly.
